A 12 year old Dungannon Girl is set to reach for the stars after securing a place in a national singing talent contest.
The Citybeat Young Star Search, sponsored by easyJet, recently visited the Rushmere Centre in Craigavon and judges had selected a short list of 5 young singers who last week faced the public vote on Citybeat.
Topping the public vote was St. Joseph’s pupil Rachael Pearson whose performance of ‘Leona Lewis – Bleeding Love’ won over the voting public.
The Citybeat Young Star Search hosted by Stuart Robinson is holding heats all over Northern Ireland this summer searching for the next big thing aged 8-16. Rachael’s winning performance can still be seen on www.citybeat.co.uk
The lucky Dungannon girl will now represent the area in the finals being staged in Belfast later this summer.
Last years winner Rachael Stewart got to record her own CD single and sing with Shayne Ward at the Belfast Christmas Light switch on.
