Rachel Tucker has officially announced her first public role since coming off hit BBC show ‘I’d Do Anything’.
The talented Belfast girl has signed up as a celebrity judge on Northern Ireland’s biggest ever talent search for young people – and will be making her first appearance on the panel this weekend in Bangor!
Rachel will be the new judge on the Citybeat Young Star Search, sponsored by easyJet which is touring the country over the summer months searching for young singing talent aged 8-16.
Speaking of her role as the new judge on the Citybeat Young Star Search, Rachel said;
“I’m pleased to be asked to take part, I know what it’s like as a young singer and how important it is to receive valuable advice from people in the industry – it’s going to be a bit weird at first going from performing infront of judges to actually becoming a judge, but I’m so excited about getting started”.
“The Citybeat Young Star Search is a great competition for young people here as it gives them the opportunity to show off their talents and prove what they can do”.
Citybeat presenter Stuart Robinson who hosts the Young Star Search is delighted that Rachel will be involved with the competition “Rachel has done everyone in Northern Ireland proud over the last number of weeks. Now that the TV show is over, I think it is brilliant that she ha agreed to come straight back and start passing on some tips and hints to other young aspiring performers from across the country.
Joining Rachel Tucker on the judging panel this Saturday will be a fellow Belfast star, Hollyoaks actor Gerard McCarthy who play Kris Fisher on the Channel 4 show.
The next heat of the Citybeat Young Star Search is this Saturday 7th June in the Flagship Centre, Bangor, starting at 1pm.
Rachel and Gerard will be selecting 5 young singers to put forward for the public vote on www.citybeat.co.uk next week before doing a meet and greet session for their fans.
